So we've been seriously MIA lately and we apologize, but we've got some good stuff coming up!  To start, we have an awesome giveaway to tell you about from one our favorite people: Melissa from Blue Prints Photography!

*THE FOLLOWING IS FROM BLUE PRINTS PHOTOGRAPHY AND YOU MUST GO TO HER BLOG TO ENTER THE DRAWING*
I am so excited to announce the re-launch of my photography blog! To celebrate, I am inviting YOU to become a follower! This is what you’ll get in return! 1. Everyone who becomes a follower will automatically be entered to win a $50 gift card from Amazon.com!

2. When you become a follower, you will also receive a set of three adorable baby ballerina cards that you can print yourself! These are 5x7 cards, and you can either print flat cards or folded cards using your favorite photo lab (like Costco). Make sure to leave your e-mail address in a comment on my blog so I know where to send them! (Scroll down to see images of the cards).

3. My new blog is not just about photography! I’ll also post my favorite recipes, have fun quizzes, and talk about interesting subjects such as personality profiling and little-known movies I think you'll love.

4. Yes, it is still mostly about photography, and that means you can send me your photography questions, and I’ll answer them on the blog! I’ll also be posting really embarrassing, horrible pictures I took when I first started, and you get to tell me what’s wrong with them!

When you join the blog, you get one entry for the $50 gift card. When you go to Facebook and like Blue Prints Photography, you get another entry! (Link below).  When you post about this to your friends on your blog or Facebook, you get another entry! Just be sure to leave a separate comment on this post for every action you take. (So if you "Like" me on Facebook, leave a comment. If you post about this with a link back to my blog on Facebook, leave another comment. If you post about this on your own blog with a link back, leave another comment. I think you get the picture :) That will give you three entries in addition to the one you already got for joining this blog!)

Thanks so much for joining in my excitement! I look forward to sharing so much with you all! The drawing for the $50 gift card will be held on Monday, September 12th if I have reached my goal of 500 followers! (If I haven't reached my goal by then, the drawing will be delayed until I do, so tell all your friends to join the blog as soon as possible!)

Sincerely, Melissa Blue Howell

For Father's Day, why not make a fun card with pictures of what your favorite man likes to do? Is it fishing? Is it reading? Maybe playing a game of basketball or football? Or just horsing around with the kids? If you're crafty, you can use scrapbooking paper to make something cute, or there are a multitude of digital frames you can use. I like this one because of the wood frame elements (makes it look more manly :) One of my favorite sites for digital cards and scrapbook paper is The Shabby Princess (http://www.shabbyprincess.com/downloads.asp). This is a link to FREE downloads of super-cute paper and collections, but they also have a bunch more you can buy for very reasonable prices. After making your card, you can even put it in a frame so he can keep it on his desk at work or on his nightstand.

So start snapping pictures of your favorite Dad doing his favorite things, and you're sure to have a card that's meaningful and artsy!

Melissa from Blue Prints Photography has another holiday photo shoot for us!

I know it may be a little much to do a photo shoot for every holiday, but I do!  I just can't resist the combo of cutie pie kids and a theme!  I am sure that I only have a few years of this too (unless I have a Buster on my hands!)  For Easter this year, I was lucky enough to have a professional do the shots!  We thought this was a fun idea for showing off the Easter finery, even though I went with rain coats.

And this idea works for more than just kids too!  Melissa writes:
Spring is finally here! The trees are blossoming, the flowers are blooming, and love is in the air! Also, it rains a lot :) Why not combine all these elements and have a flirty and fun photo session with an umbrella? Here are some shots of a super cute couple I did a couple years ago. You and your honey can also go out and have a friend take pictures while you ham it up! You can do so many things with an umbrella as a prop.

We hope April Showers bring you cute pictures!

We thought it would be fun to feature a photographer each month presenting a holiday themed photo shoot for you to do at home with your kids. Clearly, a pro is the best, but its fun to have a few holiday-themed candids on display too!

This month, in honor of St Patrick's Day, our guest blogger is Melissa from Blue Prints Photography.   You should definitely check her blog out! Melissa had this super fun idea to do for your St. Patrick's Day photo this year that will help answer the question, feelin' green? Not really....

Melissa writes:

For Saint Patrick's Day this year, ditch the traditional green and go for a rainbow-themed photo shoot with your kids! If you don't have a rainbow dress like the one pictured, don't worry! You can create your own rainbow effect by dressing up your child in purple socks, blue shorts, a green shirt, yellow scarf, and an orange or red hat. Or, if you have several children, spread the rainbow out over all of them! Most importantly, just be goofy and have fun!

I am picturing my girls wearing a mix of reds and orange and purple and yellow and my son in blues and greens all in a row to make my own little rainbow of love---hopefully I can get the perfect shot before the rainbow starts pulling hair and pushing!!! Wish me luck...the Irish kind!

By the way, if this post inspires you to take some fun rainbow pictures,
or have Melissa take them, let us know!  We'd love to see them!
