Remember also the thorns of Christ's crown? These are used during Lent by many Christians to symbolize the kind of kingdom Jesus maintains in a sinful world. Thorns are about pain and suffering. Jesus still endures our hardships along with us today. His crown of thorns is also used at Easter to remind us of His ultimate suffering on the cross.
