And then He stood and raised His
eyes
To heaven's transparent dome;
And in the same clear voice He said :
"Father, the hour is come."
Then followed such a solemn prayer,
With holy nearness filled,
As human lips ne'er breathed before,
By faith however thrilled.
The prayer ended, the Jesus crossed
Over the Kedron brook,
And the last walk, in silence calm,
With His disciples took.
