| "Say Your Mine" is a nine foot oil painting based upon the Resurrection. |
This piece was painted during a ELCA Lutheran youth convention in Saint Louis ten years ago. It is a nine foot oil painting of the Resurrection. I stood on a ladder to paint the top half prior to the convention so that the kids would be able to image just "how" it would look upon completion. While lecturing on stage, I painted the lower half. The experience was great fun! The painting is actually based upon two other historic Resurrections, one a famous painting and the other in an illustrated children's Bible. Taking influences from other artists helps me to feel connected to a larger more important purpose. I look forward to joining other Christian artists in heaven one day and discussing with them our common experiences, dreams and trials.
